Location (Primary Location for Job Responsibilities) Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060. Job Summary Plans and implements program initiatives for the assigned college, academic department, and/or academic unit. Participates in the generation of program resources, communication, design and development of operating goals, objectives, and protocols. Serves as primary point for program implementation and operational matters. Provides technical, professional and programmatic guidance, consultation, and support. Responsibilities DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Reviews and edits metadata through copy cataloging of purchased eBooks, print books, and other library resources in different formats with some degree of independence, utilizing international standards, codes, and practices 2. Creates, updates, and maintains holding and item records. Processes library resources in a timely manner 3. Activates electronic portfolios for electronic books in the library¿s catalog to enable access. Maintains bibliographic records for specific electronic collections, including licensed demand- driven collections 4. Performs batch updates and changes to descriptive and subject metadata to maintain the library catalog, including withdrawals, item status updates, and location changes 5. Provides cataloging and metadata statistics or reports as needed 6. Participate in planning, procedure development and implementation, and policy and decision-making processes for the unit and for the department and library as required 7. Resolves and responds to metadata issues reported via online form, library help desk, any library staff. Cross-trains on receiving and processing serial issues and standing orders and corrects serial metadata records as needed Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in related field Required Experience One (1) year of work experience related to the position Preferred Qualifications Preferred Educational Qualifications An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field Preferred Experience Previous experience with program development and coordination Previous experience in higher education Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: KNOWLEDGE Working knowledge of a bibliographic utility and library services platform SKILLS Excellent attention to detail and high degree of accuracy and efficiency Strong organizational skills, including ability to plan and prioritize multiple tasks to meet established deadlines USG Core Values The University System of Georgia is comprised of our 25 institutions of higher education and learning as well as the System Office.
