Amazon Delivery Station Associate - Part-Time Package Handling
About the Role
An Amazon delivery station is hiring part-time Delivery Station Associates to sort and stage packages for last-mile delivery. Delivery station roles are physically active, shift-based positions that sit at the final stage of the Amazon supply chain — packages arrive from fulfillment centers and sortation facilities, and delivery station associates sort them into delivery route bags and stage them for the last-mile drivers who take them to customers' doors. This is a fast-paced, physically active role with flexible part-time shifts and strong pay.
What You Will Do
- Unload packages from arriving trailers onto the inbound conveyor belt or dock roller system
- Scan each package barcode and sort packages into the correct delivery bag or route bin based on the system-assigned delivery zone
- Verify package count and scan confirmation for each outbound route bag before sealing and staging it for delivery driver pickup
- Stage sealed delivery bags in the correct lane or staging area for each delivery route
- Load delivery bags into Amazon delivery vans for departing drivers, placing heavy packages at the bottom and organizing bags for efficient delivery sequence
- Process package exceptions — damaged items, scan failures, and miss-sorts — according to the delivery station exception handling procedure
- Keep the inbound dock, sort floor, and outbound staging areas clear, organized, and safe throughout the shift
- Participate in start-of-shift safety briefings and complete all required safety scans and confirmations during the shift
What You Need
- Physical ability to lift packages up to 49 lbs, scan and sort rapidly, and stand or walk for the full shift duration
- Speed and accuracy — delivery station sort rates are measured and associates receive regular feedback on performance
- Comfortable in a loud, active dock environment with moving vehicles and conveyor systems operating nearby
- Reliable availability for your scheduled shifts — delivery stations run on precise timing and cannot absorb absences easily
- Early morning availability preferred — most delivery station sort shifts run between 3 AM and 8 AM
- Must be 18 or older — no prior experience required
Nice to Have
- Previous package handling, dock, or sortation center experience
- Familiarity with RF scanner systems and barcode scanning
- Forklift or powered industrial truck certification for dock roles
