Baggage Runner – Airport Ticket Counter

Job SummaryThe Baggage Runner is responsible for transporting checked baggage from the airline ticket counter to the designated baggage handling area safely, efficiently, and on schedule. This role supports ticket counter operations by ensuring luggage is moved promptly, maintaining security procedures, and providing excellent customer service when assisting passengers.
Key ResponsibilitiesCollect checked baggage from airline ticket counters.
Transport baggage safely to the baggage handling or sorting area.
Ensure baggage tags and documentation are accurate before transport.
Follow all airport security, safety, and TSA regulations.
Assist ticket counter agents during peak travel periods.
Report damaged, suspicious, or untagged baggage to supervisors immediately.
Operate baggage carts and other ground support equipment safely.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Provide courteous assistance to passengers when needed.
Meet airline productivity and on-time performance standards.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous airport, airline, warehouse, or customer service experience is a plus.
Valid driver's license may be required depending on airport operations.
Ability to pass airport background checks and security clearance.
Ability to lift up to 70 pounds repeatedly.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Frequently lift, push, pull, and carry heavy luggage.
Stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
Work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
