What You Will Do

• Staff the espresso bar independently or alongside one other barista during Saturday and Sunday morning and afternoon rushes
• Pull espresso shots to consistent time and weight, steam and texture milk for lattes and cappuccinos, and dial in the grinder as needed throughout the shift
• Prepare blended, iced, and seasonal specialty beverages accurately and efficiently to keep wait times under three minutes during peak periods
• Take orders at the register between bar duties, processing payments and building rapport with regular weekend customers
• Monitor milk temperatures, shot quality, and drink presentation to ensure every drink leaving the bar meets quality standards
• Clean the espresso machine, grinder, and bar surfaces throughout the shift — not just at close
• Communicate proactively with the floor team about stock levels, equipment issues, and customer feedback
• Complete weekend opening and closing checklists including equipment flush, milk counting, and pastry display teardown

What You Need

• Weekend availability — Saturday and/or Sunday shifts are the primary requirement for this role
• Prior barista or coffee shop experience preferred — weekend shifts are busy and training time is limited
• Ability to work confidently behind the bar during peak rush without needing step-by-step supervision
• Strong work ethic and the ability to stay focused and upbeat through a full weekend morning rush
• Comfortable operating an espresso machine, POS system, and standard café equipment
• 16 years or older — weekend positions available for high school and college students

Nice to Have

• Specialty coffee knowledge — origin awareness, brewing methods, and espresso extraction principles
• Latte art ability — heart, rosetta, or tulip pours are noticed and appreciated
• ServSafe Food Handler certification
