A growing café group is hiring friendly and reliable Part-Time Counter Staff for front-of-house positions across several busy locations. Counter staff are the face of the café — greeting guests, taking orders, and keeping the front counter running smoothly during peak hours. No previous food service experience is needed — we provide full paid training from your first day.

What You Will Do

• Welcome every customer with a friendly greeting and assist them in selecting drinks, food items, and add-ons from the menu
• Take food and beverage orders accurately at the counter, entering each item correctly into the POS system
• Process cash, credit card, and mobile payments quickly and accurately, providing receipts and correct change
• Call out completed orders, hand items to the correct customer, and follow up when wait times are longer than expected
• Keep the front counter, condiment station, and seating area clean, organized, and stocked throughout the shift
• Assist with simple food prep tasks including assembling cold sandwiches, plating pastries, and packaging to-go orders
• Communicate clearly with the kitchen or bar team when orders are modified, allergy-sensitive, or require special handling
• Support opening and closing tasks including cleaning, restocking, counting the till, and preparing for the next day

What You Need

• Friendly, people-first attitude — you genuinely enjoy interacting with customers and making their experience positive
• Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately without relying entirely on the register
• Ability to stay organized and attentive to multiple orders during busy periods
• Physical stamina to stand for 4 – 6 hour shifts and move efficiently throughout the café
• Availability for at least two weekday or weekend shifts per week — consistent attendance is required
• Must be 16 or older — no previous experience required

Nice to Have

• Previous counter service, fast food, or retail cashier experience
• Familiarity with point-of-sale systems (Square, Toast, or similar)
• Food handler card or ServSafe certification
