Location:Remote PositionPay Range:$52,395.20 - $92,164.80<h1>Job Description Summary: </h1>Provide clinical nutrition consultation, programs, and education to cancer patients across the continuum of the cancer experience including treatment, secondary prevention, cancer recurrence and palliative care.<h1>Primary Key Performance Areas:</h1><h1></h1>KPA 1 – Product Knowledge<ul><li>Solid knowledge of clinical nutrition with emphasis on nutrition needs of cancer patients (nutrition impact symptom and nutrition therapies, malnutrition, enteral/parenteral nutrition, cancer prevention and survivorship).</li><li>Knowledge of the Nutrition Care Process as it relates to the nutrition needs of cancer patients and ability to expertly apply all steps of the process.</li><li>Provide individualized nutrition assessments, counseling and nutrition education based on patients’ specific cancer therapies and nutrition needs.</li><li>Work in partnership with health-care team and community resources to provide continuity of nutrition services for patients and their families across the cancer continuum.</li></ul><ul><li>Establish priorities for nutrition-care delivery based on urgency and complexity of nutrition interventions.</li></ul>KPA 2 – Resources<ul><li>Practice reflects “best practice” based on scientific research, systematic literature review, expert opinion, and professional judgment.</li><li>Attend education programs to maintain status as effective and knowledgeable resource regarding patients’ nutrition needs.</li></ul>KPA 3 – Compliance and SOPS<ul><li>Maintains Standard Operating Procedures of compliance ensuring requirements are communicated and managed according to accreditation standards, HIPAA and state licensure requirements.</li></ul>KPA 4 – Communication and Customer Service<ul><li>Ensure effective communication and premier customer service with internal and external customers.</li></ul><ul><li>Conduct counseling and/or education sessions utilizing appropriate interpersonal and communication skills.</li><li>Excellent counseling skills and the ability to relate to a multi-ethnic community and varied learning levels.</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills to establish productive working relationships with multidisciplinary clinic teams providing patient’s comprehensive care.</li></ul>KPA 5 – Navigation and Documentation<ul><li>Appropriately document patient communications in EMR according to departmental SOP/JBIs.</li></ul><h1>Position Qualifications/Requirements:</h1><h1></h1>Education:<ul><li>Minimum of Bachelor of Science in nutrition from an ACEND-Accredited program. </li><li>Advanced degree in the field of nutrition preferred. </li></ul>Previous Experience:<ul><li>Minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of clinical nutrition with extensive experience in oncology nutrition (medical/surgical/radiation oncology)</li></ul>Office experience:<ul><li>Good working knowledge of computer usage in the workplace</li><li>Excellent verbal/writing skills</li><li>Experience documenting in EMRs</li><li>Work with Microsoft 365 Suite</li><li>Experience with telehealth platforms</li></ul>Core Capabilities:<ul><li>Ability to work independently.</li><li>Attention to detail.</li><li>Strong communication skills</li><li>Patient-centered philosophy</li><li>Collaborative work ethic</li></ul>Certifications/Licenses:<ul><li>Must have an active Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist (RD/RDN) credential with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)</li><li>Must be a Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition (CSO) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).</li><li>Must maintain Dietetic Licensure or Certification in state(s) of assignment.</li></ul>Travel: 0%Standard Workdays/Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm; flexible to meet business needs.#AONA#LI-ONSITE
