Data Architect
<p><b><span class="emphasis-2">Job Overview:</span></b></p><p></p><p>Informatics at Fortrea is a high profile, high impact team that focuses on creating innovative data-driven solutions to improve the speed, cost, and quality of drug development.</p><p></p><p><b><span class="emphasis-2">Summary of Responsibilities:</span></b></p><ul><li><p>Contribute to architectural vision for Fortrea’s data architecture, data integration and master data management strategies.</p></li><li><p>Design and implement core ETL workflows for Fortrea’s information integration and reporting infrastructure.</p></li><li><p>Participate in the design and development of high-performing, scalable and maintainable data repositories for analytic purposes.</p></li><li><p>Participate in the full development cycle from product inception, research and prototyping to release in production.</p></li><li><p>Measurably impact company performance by delivering high quality, scalable data products.</p></li><li><p>Supervise external resources.</p></li><li><p>All other duties as needed or assigned.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><span class="emphasis-2">Qualifications (Minimum Required):</span></b></p><ul><li><p>BSc/MSc in computer science, information systems, life sciences, or similar.</p></li><li><p>Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements</p></li></ul><p></p><p><span class="emphasis-2">Competencies:</span></p><p></p><ul><li><p>A passion for innovating with data sciences at scale; applying modern technologies to large data sets and creating measurable business value.</p></li><li><p>Obsessive attention to detail, passion for the end-user experience.</p></li><li><p>General problem-solving skills, versatility.</p></li><li><p>Collaborative mindset, team spirit.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><span class="emphasis-2">Experience (Minimum Required):</span></b></p><ul><li><p>8+ years of designing ETL processes, designing data transfer and synchronization schemes, and implementing complex ETL workflows.</p></li><li><p><b>Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Databricks is highly preferred</b></p></li><li><p>Solid understanding of operational and dimensional database models, including logical and physical design using SQL Server, Oracle, or similar.</p></li><li><p>Experience delivering data to staging environments, data warehouses and data marts.</p></li><li><p>Experience with master data management approaches, tools, and design patterns.</p></li><li><p>Proficiency in database programming using T-SQL, PL/SQL, or similar.</p></li><li><p>Proficiency in query performance tuning.</p></li><li><p>Proven ability to take ownership and lead a project with minimal supervision.</p></li><li><p>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with strong written and verbal presentation.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><span class="emphasis-2"><b>Preferred:</b></span></p><ul><li><p>Experience in pharmaceutical R and D, clinical development and/or healthcare IT, and working knowledge of standard medical terminologies, coding systems and data standards.</p></li><li><p>Familiarity with NoSQL databases, including Solr, MongoDB, CouchDB, or similar.</p></li><li><p>Familiarity with Hadoop or other distributed data stores and NoSQL databases.</p></li><li><p>Familiarity with semantic web, OWL, RDF.</p></li><li><p>Programming skills in C#.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><span class="emphasis-2"><b>Physical Demands / Work Environment: </b></span></p><ul><li><p>N/A</p></li></ul><p></p><p><span>Learn more about our </span><a href="https://careers.fortrea.com/us/en/eeo-and-accommodations" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">EEO & Accommodations request here</a><span>.</span></p>
