We're seeking a strategic and results-driven leader to spearhead our sales efforts and drive growth across the U.S. Conventional Grocery channel for one of the fastest growing better-for-you wellness brands in the CPG space. As Director of Retail Sales, Grocery, you'll be instrumental in developing and executing channel-specific sales strategies, cultivating key customer and distributor relationships, and leading a high-performing sales team to success.</span></p> <p><br><br></p> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 300">The ideal candidate has 5+ years of relevant experience with a proven track record in sales leadership, preferably within the wellness or CPG industry and ideally with direct experience selling into the grocery channel. You'll need to excel in building and managing a sales pipeline, navigating distributor relationships, analyzing market trends, and driving revenue growth. You can help us do it.</span></p> <p><br><br></p> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold">Key Duties & Responsibilities</span></p> <ul> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 300">Responsible for managing key U.S. accounts across the Conventional Grocery channel (ex: Kroger, Albertsons/Safeway, Publix, Ahold Delhaize, HEB, Wegmans).</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 300">Responsible for managing key U.S. accounts across theDrug channel (ex: CVS, Walgreens).</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 300">Strategic alignment and development of the overall channel strategies with both the sales team and the overall leadership team.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 300">Establishing and building strong relationships with existing national and regional grocery retailers (both corporate leadership and field-based management), distributors (UNFI, KeHE) and prospective retail outlets nationally.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 300">Aid in the negotiation of contracts with key accounts, understanding key account needs/requirements.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 300">Accountability of Channel P&L management and trade budget.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 300">Provide detailed and accurate revenue forecasting, demand planning, and distribution mapping.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 300">Evaluating sales promotional/trade spending and effectively tracking ROI.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 300">Expand relationships with existing accounts through continuously proposing solutions that align with their objectives.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 300">Providing leadership, direction and support to a team of entry level sales associates and field-based brand advocates.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 300">Guide direct reports in managing customer/distributor expectations.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 300">Collaborating with senior executives to establish sales goals for the region through market analysis, creation of a strategic 90-day plan and fearless execution.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 300">Contribute to a high level of customer satisfaction.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 300">Create weekly and monthly internal reports with sales and financial data.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 300">Exceeding monthly sales goals and achieving quarterly Key Performance Metrics.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 300">Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to the company leadership team and other company functions.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 300">Planning and attending trade shows, trade events, exhibitions, conferences and major sales events (e.g., Natural Products Expo West, ECRM, category reviews).</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 300">Working closely with retail marketing developing retailer-specific support and launch plans.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 300">Additional responsibilities include forecast analysis, promotional execution, effective communication of SOP's, and strong category management analysis to further support and grow distribution optimization.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold">Job Requirements</span></p> <ul> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 300">Minimum of 5+ years of progressive sales experience, preferably in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) or wellness space (or related fields).</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 300">Experience selling into grocery retailers such as Kroger, Albertsons, Publix, HEB, and Wegmans would be beneficial, along with experience managing distributor relationships with UNFI and/or KeHE.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 300">Experience selling into drug retailers such as CVS and Walgreens.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 300">Proven track record of successful leadership and management of sales teams.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 300">In-depth understanding of the wellness industry, including market trends, competitive landscape, and consumer preferences preferred.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 300">Experience managing key accounts, with a focus on building strong relationships with key stakeholders (including buyers, category managers, and distributor reps).</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt;
