We are hiring Entry-Level Remote Medical Billing and Coding Specialists for candidates who have completed a medical billing or coding certificate program. You will support healthcare providers by accurately coding patient encounters, submitting insurance claims, and following up on reimbursements — all from your home office with full mentorship and training support.

What You Will Do

  • Review patient visit records and assign accurate ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes and CPT procedure codes
  • Prepare and electronically submit insurance claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers on schedule
  • Follow up on pending, denied, and rejected claims — identify denial reasons and submit corrected claims or appeals
  • Post insurance payments, patient payments, and contractual adjustments to the practice management billing system
  • Generate and review aging reports to identify overdue accounts and escalate for collections or write-off review
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance in all patient data handling, document storage, and remote communication practices

Requirements

  • Medical billing and coding certificate required — CPC, CCS, CPB, or equivalent accredited program
  • Entry level — 0 to 1 year of experience acceptable for candidates with strong certification and training
  • Working knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II coding systems
  • Familiarity with insurance claim workflows and basic understanding of ERA and EOB documents
  • Home computer with reliable internet access — VPN and EHR remote access setup support provided
  • HIPAA compliance awareness and commitment to patient data privacy in a remote work environment

Pay and Benefits

  • Pay: $18.00 to $24.00 per hour — increases with productivity and certification achievement
