Global Benefits Consultant - (Contract & Remote)
<p>We are seeking an experienced and strategic <strong>Benefits Consultant</strong> to support multiple client engagements in a fast-paced consulting environment at Alliant Human Capital. This role will serve as a trusted advisor to clients by leading benefits strategy, administration, compliance, and operational support across domestic and global employee populations.</p><p>The ideal candidate brings <strong>8+ years of progressive benefits experience</strong>, including hands-on experience supporting <strong>global benefits programs</strong>, vendor management, employee escalations, open enrollment, compliance initiatives, and benefits operations within complex and fast-growing organizations. This individual must be comfortable working independently, managing multiple clients simultaneously, and partnering directly with executive stakeholders.</p><h2>Key Responsibilities</h2><ul><li>Lead administration and strategic oversight of U.S. and global employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, wellness, and leave programs</li><li>Manage and support global benefits operations across multiple countries and regions, including coordination with international brokers and vendors</li><li>Serve as the primary point of contact for client leadership regarding benefits strategy, escalations, renewals, compliance, and employee experience</li><li>Partner with brokers, carriers, TPAs, payroll providers, and global vendors to ensure effective program administration and issue resolution</li><li>Support annual open enrollment processes including employee communications, system configuration validation, testing, and reporting</li><li>Provide hands-on support with leave of absence and disability programs including FMLA, ADA, state leaves, parental leave, and global leave requirements where applicable</li><li>Analyze benefits utilization, trends, benchmarking data, and vendor performance to provide strategic recommendations to clients</li><li>Ensure compliance with applicable regulations including ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, Section 125, and international benefits requirements</li><li>Support mergers, acquisitions, global expansions, and organizational changes impacting employee benefit programs</li><li>Maintain and audit HRIS and benefits systems including Workday, ADP Workforce Now, UKG, Rippling, BambooHR, or similar platforms</li><li>Develop SOPs, process documentation, employee-facing materials, and benefits communications</li><li>Support payroll and finance teams with benefits deductions, invoices, carrier reconciliations, and reporting</li><li>Participate in client meetings, strategic planning discussions, and operational reviews as a subject matter expert</li></ul><h2>Qualifications</h2><ul><li>8+ years of progressive experience in benefits administration, benefits consulting, or total rewards</li><li>Required experience managing or supporting <strong>global benefits programs</strong></li><li>Strong knowledge of U.S. benefits compliance and employee leave regulations</li><li>Experience supporting multi-state and international employee populations</li><li>Demonstrated experience managing multiple clients, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously</li><li>Experience partnering directly with executive leadership and external vendors</li><li>Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a consultative and client-service mindset</li><li>Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and HRIS/benefits platforms</li></ul><h2>Preferred Qualifications</h2><ul><li>Previous consulting or outsourced HR/Benefits support experience</li><li>Experience in high-growth, startup, or rapidly scaling organizations</li><li>CEBS, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or related certifications preferred</li><li>Experience with global benefits brokers and international compliance coordination</li><li>Familiarity with benefits integrations, EDI feeds, and payroll reconciliation processes</li></ul><h2>Work Environment</h2><ul><li>Remote-based role with flexibility to support clients across multiple time zones</li><li>Ability to support multiple concurrent engagements in a consulting environment</li><li>Occasional travel may be required based on client needs</li></ul><h2>What Success Looks Like</h2><ul><li>Delivering high-quality client support with minimal oversight</li><li>Building strong partnerships with clients, brokers, and internal teams</li><li>Improving operational efficiency and employee experience within benefits programs</li><li>Providing proactive, strategic recommendations that support client growth and compliance</li><li>Successfully managing complex benefits operations in both domestic and global environments</li></ul>
