Governance, Risk, and Compliance Officer
Primary Responsibilities:
Data GovernanceCompliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements for data storage, handling, and retention.
- Oversee the implementation of best practices in data governance to safeguard sensitive and confidential information.
- Manage and maintain all client agreements and outside counsel guidelines.
- Ensure that firm practices align with client contractual obligations and industry standards.
- Review, develop, and implement organizational policies and procedures geared toward mitigating operational, legal, and compliance risks.
- Conduct periodic compliance assessments and recommend corrective actions.
- Oversee vendor relationships to ensure compliance with security, data handling, and risk requirements.
- Manage third-party risk assessment processes and monitor ongoing compliance.
- Provide high-level oversight of the firm's records management program.
- Ensure records are securely maintained, properly classified, and disposed of in accordance with legal, regulatory, and firm requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Must have bachelor's degree and 15+ years' experience in the field of governance, risk, and compliance.
- Must demonstrate excellent organizational, communication, inter-personal and multi-tasking skills.
- The candidate must possess the ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff and external contacts and work as an effective team member, meet tight deadlines with the flexibility to handle a variety of tasks and shift priorities simultaneously.
