<h2><strong><em><u>Job Title: Mechanical Installer II - Paying up to $24/Hour!</u></em></strong></h2><p><strong>Job Description</strong><p>This short-term Mechanical Installer II role supports a large-scale automation upgrade at a distribution facility by installing robotic arms, sub-stations, and internal site fencing. You will assemble and commission mechanical and electrical components, handle materials throughout a multi-floor warehouse, and follow detailed instructions and diagrams to bring new automation systems online. This is a 6–8 week assignment, with the potential to extend depending on project needs and supply chain timing.<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Install robotic arms on loading docks, including approximately 20 robotic arms and around 40 sub-stations, as well as internal site fencing.</li><li>Assemble and build robotic arms, stations, and related mechanical structures according to diagrams and instructions.</li><li>Use pallet jacks to move materials between areas, including running materials up elevators, and safely strap and catalogue materials.</li><li>Operate hand and air-powered tools to commission towers and other components in line with technical diagrams.</li><li>Run wiring for power supply to products and equipment, following step-by-step instructions and basic safety practices.</li><li>Support project teams by assisting with commissioning activities, cleaning the warehouse, and maintaining an organized work area.</li><li>Perform general labor tasks such as loading, packaging, and cleaning as needed to keep the project on schedule.</li><li>Read and interpret blueprints or diagrams to complete installations accurately.</li><li>Work across multiple positions as needed, including inventory support, housekeeping, robotics-related tasks, and general construction-related duties.</li><li>Maintain consistent, reliable attendance and arrive on time for all scheduled shifts.</li><li>Follow all site safety rules, use required personal protective equipment, and work in a presentable and professional manner.</li><li>Communicate effectively with project managers, fellow installers, and material handlers to coordinate daily tasks.</li><li>Work independently once trained on processes, while remaining responsive to direction and feedback.</li></ul><p><strong>Essential Skills</strong></p><ul><li>Previous installer experience with both power tools and hand tools.</li><li>Industrial general labor experience in environments such as warehouses, construction, or similar settings.</li><li>Ability to consistently lift 40–50 pounds throughout the shift.</li><li>Ability to work an 8-hour day on a hard cement floor and perform highly physical tasks, including extensive walking and material movement.</li><li>Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with mechanical assemblies.</li><li>Ability to read and follow blueprints, diagrams, and step-by-step instructions.</li><li>Good attendance record with the ability to maintain perfect or near-perfect attendance for the duration of the assignment.</li><li>Ability to take direction well and follow established processes after training.</li><li>Understanding of basic safety practices in an industrial or construction-like environment.</li><li>Ability to communicate reliably and clearly with team members and project leadership.</li><li>Comfort working in loud, messy, and crowded environments that may be under construction.</li></ul><p><strong>Additional Skills & Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Experience on similar large-scale automation or distribution center installation projects.</li><li>Experience working on similar projects with this type of automation or distribution environment.</li><li>Ability to work independently once trained, with minimal supervision.</li><li>Openness to working in multiple roles, including inventory, housekeeping, robotics-related tasks, general labor, construction support, loading, packaging, and cleaning.</li><li>Strong reliability and professionalism, with a focus on not cutting corners and maintaining high-quality work.</li><li>Comfort interacting with project managers, installers, and material handlers in a fast-paced project environment.</li></ul><p><strong>Why Work Here?</strong><p>This project offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge material handling and automation technology in a large distribution center environment. Most tasks occur on mezzanine and sub-mezzanine levels, with a mix of air-conditioned and open-air areas that can be hot during the summer. The role is highly physical, involving extensive walking on cement floors, frequent lifting, and constant movement throughout the shift. You will interact regularly with project managers, a team of approximately 22 installers, and around 8 material handlers. The standard schedule is typically 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch, five days per week, for about 40 hours per week. The dress code allows jeans, safety-toe shoes or boots, and T-shirts, while avoiding loose or baggy clothing. High-visibility vests, safety glasses, hard hats, gloves, and ear plugs are provided and must be worn as required to maintain a safe and professional work environment.</p><strong>Job Type & Location</strong><p>This is a Contract position based out of Wilmington, NC.</p><strong>Pay and Benefits</strong><p>The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.<p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
