Practice Director

<p> </p><p>One of Pine's portfolio companies is seeking a <strong>Practice Director</strong> to set the strategic direction of the practice, lead a team of Practice Managers, and drive the financial and operational performance of the business.</p> <p>This is a senior leadership role for someone who thrives at the intersection of people, strategy, and execution.</p> <p>This is a <strong>full-time remote role</strong>.</p> <p></p> <p></p><p><br></p><b>What You'll Do</b><div> <p><strong>Strategy & Goal Setting</strong></p> <ul> <li>Develop and communicate the strategic direction and goals of the practice in alignment with broader organizational objectives.</li> <li>Create and execute on initiatives that move the practice forward — and adjust course when the market demands it.</li> <li>Partner with leadership to build annual OKRs and drive accountability toward achieving them.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Team Leadership</strong></p> <ul> <li>Manage and mentor Practice Managers who oversee project managers, consultants, solution architects, developers, and team leads.</li> <li>Provide guidance and support across the practice as a whole, fostering a high-performance, people-first culture.</li> <li>Monitor and optimize team utilization to maximize efficiency and productivity.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Methodology & Best Practices</strong></p> <ul> <li>Set the direction for practice methodologies, ensuring the team operates consistently and at a high standard.</li> <li>Stay current with industry trends and emerging best practices to keep the practice competitive and innovative.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Escalation & Issue Resolution</strong></p> <ul> <li>Serve as the senior escalation point for complex client and project issues — bringing calm, clarity, and resolution when it matters most.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Talent & Skillset Development</strong></p> <ul> <li>Identify skill gaps within the team and build strategies for training, upskilling, and long-term development.</li> </ul> <p><strong>SOW Review & Commercial Management</strong></p> <ul> <li>Review Statements of Work to ensure alignment with practice goals.</li> <li>Negotiate credits and manage client expectations to protect both satisfaction and profitability.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Financial Ownership</strong></p> <ul> <li>Own the financial performance of the practice — including revenue targets, utilization goals, profitability, and cost management.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Tooling & Application Decisions</strong></p> <ul> <li>Contribute to decisions around the tools and applications that support practice operations, with an eye toward efficiency and scalability.</li> </ul> </div><p><br></p><b>What They're Looking For</b><div> <p><strong>Required</strong></p> <ul> <li>Proven leadership experience in a consulting practice, professional services firm, or similar environment.</li> <li>Strong understanding of project management methodologies and how they apply in a fast-moving consulting context.</li> <li>Financial acumen — comfortable owning a P&L, managing utilization targets, and driving revenue goals.</li> <li>Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams.</li> <li>Track record of building and executing strategic plans that deliver measurable business outcomes.</li> <li>Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt as priorities shift.</li> <li>Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Nice to Have</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience in a Microsoft Dynamics or ERP consulting environment.</li> <li>Familiarity with SOW development, credit negotiations, and professional services commercial models.</li> <li>Experience partnering with executive leadership on OKR frameworks and organizational planning.</li> </ul> </div><p><br></p><p></p> <div>$180,000 - $205,000 a year</div><small><div> <ul> <li><strong>Location:</strong> Remote</li> <li><strong>Employment Type:</strong> Full-Time</li> <li><strong>Additional Compensation:</strong> Variable comp based on performance</li> <li><strong>Benefits:</strong> Competitive benefits package (medical, dental, vision), generous PTO and company-observed holidays, 401(k) with employer match, professional development opportunities, and a people-first culture backed by Pine Services Group</li> </ul> </div></small>
