Public Relations Officer | Mandarin Speaker | Salary up to RM 9,000

Role Summary The Public Relations Officer is responsible for supporting the Head (Public Relations) in planning and executing public relations initiatives, promotional events, and media engagement activities to strengthen the organisation’s profile and bilateral relationships. This role involves media relations, research, communications support, event coordination, and preparation of publicity materials.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and implementing promotional events, cultural projects, seminars, and other initiatives organised by the office to strengthen the organisation’s profile and external relationships.
  • Assist in monitoring media coverage and conducting research related to countries under the office’s purview.
  • Assist in handling media and public enquiries from Hong Kong stakeholders regarding related matters.
  • Support the establishment and cultivation of relationships with key media representatives and explore media opportunities, including drafting and issuing press releases and feature articles.
  • Assist in identifying and organising speaking engagements and platforms for senior management and visiting officials.
  • Prepare media summaries, press clippings, bi-monthly reports, press releases, newsletters, and other publicity materials.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by senior officers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum four (4) years of relevant working experience in public relations, communications, media relations, or related fields.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English, Chinese, and local language.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience in drafting press releases, reports, and publicity materials.
  • Good understanding of media engagement, stakeholder management, and event coordination.
  • Experience in organising promotional events, seminars, or public engagement activities is an added advantage.
  • Strong research, analytical, and organisational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and digital communication tools.
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
