Job Overview

An established healthcare organization is seeking a Board-Certified Diagnostic Radiologist to provide remote overnight coverage for a high-volume emergency radiology service in Michigan. This locum tenens opportunity offers a consistent overnight schedule, flexible coverage options, and the ability to work remotely using a supplied workstation. The ideal candidate will be comfortable interpreting a broad range of emergency diagnostic imaging studies, supervising and teaching radiology residents, and working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates who can provide at least one week of coverage per month are encouraged to apply, with a preference for physicians available for 2 to 3 weeks per month.

Assignment Dates

September 1, 2026 – December 31, 2026

Schedule

  • Overnight shifts: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM Eastern Time
  • Scheduled clinical hours only
  • Minimum of 7 shifts per month
  • Preference for physicians able to provide 2–3 weeks of coverage per month
  • One-week-per-month availability will be considered

Responsibilities

  • Interpret emergency and diagnostic imaging studies during overnight hours
  • Provide timely, accurate radiology reports for emergency department patients
  • Collaborate with clinical teams as needed regarding imaging findings
  • Supervise and teach radiology residents during overnight coverage
  • Maintain high-quality patient care and reporting standards
  • Utilize hospital systems and workflows effectively in a remote environment

Clinical Volume

  • Average 80–130 mixed emergency department cases per 8-hour shift
  • Coverage supported by 2–3 radiology residents overnight
  • Primarily emergency and acute care diagnostic imaging interpretation

Required Qualifications

  • MD or DO
  • Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiology
  • Board certification must align with specialty
  • Active Michigan medical license required at time of submission
  • Clean malpractice history
  • Experience reading emergency diagnostic studies in a high-volume setting
  • Comfortable supervising and teaching residents
