[Remote] Sr. Accounting Specialist

As a Senior Accounting Specialist, you will lead accounting tasks for complex clients, manage financial reporting, and mentor junior team members while ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures. Responsibilities Own month-end close and financial reporting for complex client accounts using QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Uplinq’s proprietary accounting system Prepare and document advanced journal entries Handle job costing, inventory tracking, and class/location-based reporting as needed Manage and troubleshoot third-party integrations Build and maintain client-specific SOPs, documentation, and QBO workflows Serve as the main point of contact for clients—leading calls, owning relationships, and resolving escalations Review junior team members’ work and provide clear, constructive feedback Skills 5+ years of small business or firm-based accounting experience Advanced Knowledge in QuickBooks Online Strong knowledge of full-cycle accrual accounting and GAAP principles Experience with job costing, inventory, and class/location reporting Skilled in managing third-party integrations Documentation and workflow mapping abilities Confident communicator who can lead client meetings and explain financials clearly Benefits Competitive pay + health, dental, vision, 401(k), and life insurance Remote-first and flexible work culture Clear path for career growth in a fast-growing firm Modern tech stack and automation-first mindset Supportive, collaborative team with strong systems and documentation Company Overview Uplinq provides an AI-integrated platform that automates bookkeeping and tax workflows for small businesses.
