<h2>About the Role</h2>Highwinds is seeking a Financial Controller to run our entire finance department across a growing portfolio of companies in the consumer lending lead generation space. This role is ideal for a highly capable finance professional who combines deep accounting fundamentals with a builder's mindset, someone who sees a manual process and immediately thinks about how to eliminate it.You will personally own every finance function, weekly invoicing and payment cycles, A/R across a high-volume two-sided marketplace, monthly close, FP&A, and reporting, while working directly with the Founder & CEO. The ideal candidate has experience supporting U.S.-based SaaS, fintech, or marketplace businesses and is comfortable operating with full ownership in a fast-paced startup environment.<h2> Key Responsibilities</h2><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li>Run weekly invoicing for clients (lender buyers) and manage A/R end-to-end, including aging and active collections</li><li>Oversee weekly payments to vendors, publishers, and partners</li><li>Own the full accounting cycle across multiple entities and operating companies</li><li>Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with U.S. GAAP</li><li>Lead month-end and year-end close processes</li><li>Prepare financial statements and management reporting packages for the CEO and leadership team</li><li>Build and maintain financial models, forecasts, budgets, and cash flow projections</li><li>Deliver KPI dashboards and unit-economics analysis by buyer, publisher, and product line</li><li>Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and payment processors</li><li>Partner with Compliance on SOC2 readiness, financial controls, and audit support</li><li>Coordinate with external accountants, tax advisors, and auditors as needed</li><li>Identify and implement automation and workflow improvements across the accounting stack</li><li>Assist with finance and accounting needs for newly launched entities and business lines</li><li>Serve as a key operational partner to the Founder & CEO and leadership team</li><li>Help establish and lead finance operations within Latin America as the company expands</li></ul><h2>Requirements</h2><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li>4+ years of progressive accounting, finance, or controllership experience</li><li>Experience supporting U.S.-based companies and U.S. accounting practices</li><li>Strong, hands-on knowledge of U.S. GAAP</li><li>Deep QuickBooks Online experience this is the primary accounting system</li><li>Experience in SaaS, fintech, marketplace, lending, or recurring-revenue business models</li><li>Proven experience managing high-volume invoicing and payment operations</li><li>Strong FP&A, financial reporting, and business analysis capabilities</li><li>Experience working across multiple legal entities or business units</li><li>Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-ownership startup environment</li></ul><h2>Success Metrics (First 3–6 Months)</h2><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li>Fully own weekly invoicing, payment cycles, and A/R operations across all entities</li><li>Deliver timely and accurate month-end closes and financial reporting packages</li><li>Improve reconciliation processes and reduce manual work through automation</li><li>Establish reliable forecasting and financial planning workflows</li><li>Create greater visibility into business performance through KPI dashboards and unit-economics reporting</li><li>Become a trusted finance partner to the Founder & CEO</li><li>Develop a roadmap for scaling the finance team within our LATAM operation</li></ul><h2>Compensation & Logistics</h2><ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li>Compensation: $3,000–$3,500/month</li><li>Location: Remote, Latin America (Colombia preferred)</li><li>Employment Type: Full-time</li><li>Time Zone: CST business hours overlap required</li><li>Growth path toward senior finance leadership within our LATAM operation</li></ul><h2>Company Overview</h2>Highwinds operates a performance-based lead generation and distribution business at the intersection of consumer lending and ad-tech, connecting a network of 100+ lender buyers with publishers through a proprietary lead distribution platform, alongside a portfolio of products including Verficate, Creditrue, and Cidelity. We move millions of dollars through our finance function every quarter and are now building out a nearshore team in Latin America.
