Senior Energy System Modeler - Remote / San Diego

VECKTA’s Operations team has one central goal: facilitating the VECKTA mission of deploying energy systems. We do this from A-Z by: Advising commercial and industrial energy users about the value of onsite energy to their business, guiding them through our marketplace, and ultimately leading them to the development of groundbreaking onsite energy solutions. What you’ll do The Senior Energy Systems Modeler is a translator. You're responsible for understanding a client’s goals, then guiding them to develop the onsite energy solution which best achieves them.On a typical day, your workflow will include:<ul><li>Collaboration with the business development team to understand customer objectives (e.g. resilience, cost reduction, emissions reduction);</li><li>Gathering, manipulating, and managing customer data and modeling parameters;</li><li>Working with technical and cost data for distributed energy resources (wind, solar, storage, hydrocarbons), utility tariff structures and onsite energy system financing;</li> <li style="color:black; vertical-align:baseline">Executing techno-economic analysis; </li> <li style="color:black; vertical-align:baseline">Sharing compelling business cases with decision makers, including financial projections and system specifications;</li> <li style="color:black; vertical-align:baseline">Mentoring and developing more junior VECKTA team members to upscale their impact.</li> </ul> Success in this role means your advice and insights will empower businesses, from local legends to the Fortune 500, to start building renewables-driven energy systems. Minimum Qualifications:<ul style="margin-top:0cm" type="disc"> <li style="color:black; vertical-align:baseline">5+ years of demonstrated success delivering techno-economic analysis for energy projects;</li> <li style="color:black; vertical-align:baseline">Bachelor’s degree in quantitative/analytical field;</li><li style="color:black; vertical-align:baseline">Utility tariffs subject matter expertise;</li><li style="color:black; vertical-align:baseline">Familiarity with the energy regulatory environment;</li><li style="color:black; vertical-align:baseline">Experience working with energy modeling software tools;</li><li style="color:black; vertical-align:baseline">Comfortable working remotely;</li><li style="color:black; vertical-align:baseline">Strong written and verbal communication skills</li></ul> Bonus Qualifications (highly desirable, but not requisite)<ul style="margin-top:0cm" type="disc"> <li style="color:black; vertical-align:baseline">Relevant experience in software development and/or a start-up environment;</li> <li style="color:black; vertical-align:baseline">Familiarity with electrical engineering principles;</li> <li style="color:black; vertical-align:baseline">Desire to develop a more decentralized, planet-friendly energy future</li> </ul> You’re excited about this opportunity because… You are excited about playing a key role in a rapidly growing, disruptive business.
