Senior Java Backend Developer

About the Role

Accenture's Technology Delivery practice is hiring a Senior Java Backend Developer to join a growing product engineering team in Chennai. You will build high-performance backend services and microservices architectures for clients in the insurance and financial services sectors. This is a full-time, onsite role with immediate hiring for qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop robust backend services using Java 11+ and Spring Boot framework
  • Build and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs consumed by web and mobile front ends
  • Architect microservices solutions with clear domain boundaries and well-defined contracts
  • Optimise database query performance across Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL environments
  • Implement message-driven architecture using Kafka or RabbitMQ for event-based systems
  • Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers on clean code practices
  • Collaborate with DevOps engineers to containerise applications and manage deployments

Required Skills

  • 5 to 9 years of backend Java development experience
  • Deep proficiency in Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Spring Security
  • Solid understanding of microservices design patterns and distributed systems
  • Experience with containerisation using Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly AWS or Azure
  • Strong grasp of unit testing with JUnit and Mockito

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with event streaming platforms like Apache Kafka
  • AWS Certified Developer or equivalent cloud certification
  • B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science or Electronics and Communication
