Operating under minimal supervision, you will apply your expert knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) to the diverse and complex landscape of statewide governmental finance. This role is pivotal in shaping the financial integrity of the State, as you will supervise or lead high-stakes assignments mandated by statute, ensuring that Arizona’s accounting and reporting systems remain both robust and efficient.<br><br>As a senior professional in this capacity, you will serve as a key advisor to management, drafting and reviewing critical recommendations for statewide accounting policies and procedures. Your expertise will be instrumental in enhancing financial systems based on collaborative input from technical staff and subordinate professionals. Beyond internal policy development, you will safeguard transparency by reviewing data for Public Information Requests and providing authoritative guidance to state agencies, the Joint Legislative Budget Committee (JLBC), and the Office of Strategic Planning and Budgeting (OSPB).<br><br>This position requires a professional who is comfortable acting as a representative of the Division in high-pressure environments, which may include testifying in court or before the legislature regarding financial findings and agency performance.
