Technology Intern
About the Position The Tech Intern will be responsible for assisting the IT Department with operations and projects over the entirety of summer, starting as early as June 1st and ending in August. This is a contract position.
You will:
General Responsibilities
- Perform onsite repairs and manage warranty depot repairs of laptops, desktops, and other classroom or office equipment;
- Assist with our Chromebook inventories, maintenance, repairs, and deployments for students;
- Assist in maintaining inventory records and documentation for equipment;
- Assist with the imaging and deployment of Windows to our staff laptop PCs for distribution to faculty and staff;
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of student accounts ;
- Provide day-to-day technical support to faculty and staff in person, phone, or via email;
- Document work and maintain an accurate inventory of physical assets;
- Communicate effectively with the school IT support company to coordinate the work needed for end-users or the network environment;
- Proactively communicate all changes that will affect a user’s working environment;
- Collaborate with your direct supervisor in planning and accomplishing goals; and
- Carry out other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology.
Hourly rate: $20 per hour
You have:
- Strong documentation skills and attention to detail in creating and tracking work orders;
- Familiarity with Windows 10/11 operating systems and Chromebooks;
- Familiarity with the Google suite of applications;
- Ability to work on multiple projects, establish priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
- Great communication skills and can regularly update statuses on projects and provide feedback; and
- Ability to provide outstanding customer service to staff and students.
- Hardware level certification is desired, but not required
